November Book Giveaway – Isaiah by the Day: A New Devotional Translation by Alec Motyer

Our November Book Giveaway features Isaiah by the Day: A New Devotional Translation by Alec Motyer. Here is a brief description of this great new devotional book:

As a man who loves the word of God, Alec Motyer presents these daily devotionals from Isaiah. For him, daily devotion is not a mere habit but a real desire to be transformed by the challenging word of Isaiah. These devotionals reassure us that the Lord can restore what sin has robbed us of. These daily devotionals are birthed from a lifetime of study on the prophecy of Isaiah. Day by day you will be provided with passages from Isaiah and an opportunity to explore the passage further. Take time to acquaint yourself with these passages from God’s Word and treasure them in your heart.

Isaiah 1:16-20 as God calls for his people to turn to him. God can cleanse us from our sins even though we are full of wicked deeds. But if we are willing and obedient we can be made clean. It is a beautiful call to rely on his grace and turn our lives away from evil.

  • My favorite verse/verses in the OT are from Isaiah, “But he was pierced for our transgressions;he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed (Isaiah 53:5 ESV).

One of my favorite “devotional” books is A.W. Tozer’s The Knowledge of the Holy. The way he writes is prayerful and almost always beings me to a place of worship as I think upon the glories of the gospel.

  • My favourite devotional book is Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening

My favourite book and verse is this:
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
